Euphrasian Basilica (Eufrazijeva Bazilika)

The Euphrasian Basilica (A) is a unique monument that dates back to the 6th century. Erected on the site of an even older, 4th-century Christian temple, it is a masterpiece of Byzantine sacred architecture. Its interior is decorated with beautiful mosaics that depict biblical scenes, as well as figures of saints and apostles - the most famous being depictions of Christ and Mary with the Child. Every detail of the architecture and mosaics conceals a symbolism that captures the richness of early Christian art. The entire basilica complex consists of three parts: the cathedral itself, the baptistery and the bell tower, which is worth climbing to enjoy the view of the entire city and the Adriatic coast. Inside the cathedral there are also beautiful marble columns and frescoes, which further add to its majesty. The entire cathedral is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a testament to its exceptional cultural and historical value. Walking through the interior of the basilica, you can feel the past mingling with the present - a place full of tranquility and an extraordinary spiritual aura.

Main Street – Decumanus

Decumanus (B) is one of the oldest streets in Poreč, dating back to Roman times. The name of this street comes from the Latin “decumanus,” which means the main axis in Roman cities, leading from east to west. Walking along it, it's easy to feel the spirit of history - on both sides of the street are historic townhouses and palaces, as well as ancient walls and fragments of Roman buildings. Note the Lion's House, a medieval building with distinctive stone decoration in the shape of lion heads. At the end of Dekumanus Street is Trg Marafor, where the Roman forum once stood, and where the ruins of Neptune's temple can be seen today. During the day, the street is bustling with life - you'll find plenty of local stores, cafes and restaurants offering traditional Istrian specialties. It's an ideal place for a stroll both during the day and in the evening, when the street lamps and the soft lights of the cafes create a romantic atmosphere.

The Poreč Heritage Museum (C) is housed in the elegant Sinčić Palace from the 18th century, which in itself is already a monument worth admiring. The museum's collections provide a better understanding of the rich history of Poreč and the Istrian region. In the museum you can see archaeological exhibits, dating from various periods - from prehistoric times, through the Roman period, to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Part of the exhibition is devoted to sacred art, including beautiful mosaics and frescoes, which are part of Istria's cultural heritage. There are also unique examples of local handicrafts, ceramics and jewelry, as well as documents and photographs depicting the development of the town over the centuries. A visit to the museum is an excellent opportunity to explore the history of this part of Croatia and learn how the influence of different cultures has shaped Poreč throughout history. For art lovers, the museum also organizes temporary exhibitions.

The peninsula

Punta is also a great place for photography enthusiasts, who will appreciate the picturesque panoramas and rich nature characteristic of this part of Istria. The peninsula is a popular place among locals, who come here for walks at different times of the day, especially at sunset. With its tranquil atmosphere and proximity to nature, Punta is the perfect place to take a break while exploring the city.

Aquacolors Aquapark

Aquacolors (E) is a modern water park that is one of the largest of its kind in Croatia. It covers an area of more than 100,000 m² and offers numerous attractions for visitors of all ages. The water park has a variety of slides with varying levels of difficulty - from calm to adrenaline-packed. At Aquacolors, you'll find both relaxation areas with pools and areas where you can go wild on high-speed slides with extreme angles. The park also offers a wave pool and lazy river, perfect for lazy floating. There are special playgrounds and paddling pools for the little ones, making it a great choice for families. Aquacolors also features food and beverage outlets and picnic areas. The entire park is surrounded by greenery, allowing you to relax in the shade after the water frenzy.

Brulo beach

Brulo (F) beach is one of the most popular beaches in Poreč, known for its crystal clear water and beautiful surroundings. It is a pebble and rocky beach, surrounded by a pine forest that provides pleasant shade on hot days. The beach is family-friendly, with a gentle descent into the water, making it ideal for children and for relaxing swims. There are also showers, toilets and the possibility to rent sun loungers, making your stay more comfortable. There is a water sports center nearby, which offers the possibility to rent windsurfing equipment, kayaks and pedal boats, so you can try different activities on the Adriatic Sea. Diving enthusiasts can take courses or excursions to explore the rich underwater world, full of marine life. There are also walking paths and jogging trails around the beach, making it an ideal place for both relaxation and recreation. In addition, you'll find several cafes and restaurants near the beach that serve refreshing drinks, ice cream and local specialties, so you can spend the whole day here enjoying all the amenities.
