Callian, French Riviera, France

Callian is a medieval village near Fayence, about 25 km west of Grasse, 30 km north of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël. This peaceful village is located on a hillside and is dominated by a castle located on its top. It's perhaps not the most interesting destination, but when you float around you may visit it.

Parking in Callian

We arrived to the town from the west side, on the Route de Gacherelle - here you can see pretty panorama of the village. We parked our car in the parking lot near the town's center (P; GPS: 43.623151, 6.753405).

Visiting the town

This was just a standard action: strolling the narrow streets, so finally we reached the top of the hill, where a sixteenth-century castle (A; GPS: 43.622595, 6.752897) is located. Its tower comes from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. From there you can see the church of Notre Dame de l'Assomption (B; GPS: 43.623003, 6.754266) of the seventeenth century.
